Rather like red buses, in one week we received instructions to clear three massive houses in Pinner, Ealing and Brondesbury along with two flats in Hampstead and Camden, so I am happy to report that we have been very busy.

It’s the furniture section that has particularly benefited including Art Deco walnut suites for the living room, the dining room and the bedroom, a fabulous semi-circular cocktail cabinet, a large 19th century painted bedroom suite, good triple wardrobes along with a 10 ft long oak dwarf glazed bookcase. A wonderful baby grand by Steck will be played throughout viewing by Martin, our own in-house Liberace. who celebrated his 86th birthday last sale!

FURNITURE continues with an occasional table on rams horn supports, a fine 19th century rosewood library table, a 19th century inlaid centre table, a Georgian oak bureau, a 19th century wine table with one piece yew top, two tall serpentine cabinets in a figured light wood on stylish bleached supports, two extended sets of 19th century dining chairs, pretty and art deco occasional tables, one in mirror finish and modern leather settees. Also good shipping furniture and a fabulous reproduction walnut diningroom suite.

PAINTINGS, a full section, include works by or attributed to Sir David Wilkie, James Burrell Smith, Paul Lake, D. Smirke, Tom Mostyn, Wooldridge, W. Richards Sen., Lawrence Self, Jan Kotowski, Roger de la Corbiere, Frank O. Salisbury, H. Breda, Lady Elizabeth Butler, Henry Tenre, and Raffaele Frigerio.

An extensive collection of WALL MIRRORS.

JEWELLERY is as usual, including an Omega Seamaster wristwatch. There is an extensive collection of silver findings. SILVER AND PLATE.

BOOKS include an extensive library from Sir Rhodes Boyson and as expected, includes much on politics, economics and religion. There are many dedicated volumes. One vendor was a god-daughter of Vivian Leigh and her books include ………..signed by Sterling Moss.

COSTUME and vintage is a large section with many designer names including Moschino, Rodier, Mugler, Jean Muir, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, Nina Ricci, Zandra Rhodes and Louis Feraud. We have a small collection of furs, shoes and handbags. Scent bottles and accessories.

COLLECTABLES includes toys including a very early original Mickey Mouse with wired body in velvet with black shirt, red trousers and yellow shoes with leather soles, possibly by Deans. It bears the original registration number 750811. There are old railway items and a rare Victorian Brocas cricket bat in a glazed presentation case. Long case CLOCKS and mantel clocks, one by Jaeger Le Coultre with original box and a collection of old electric wall clocks.

PORCELAIN, POTTERY AND GLASS fill the shelves. The glass is particularly good quality and includes some very large vases and fine coloured wine glasses. Porcelain includes a fine and extensive tea and coffee service from Czechoslovakia. We have Herend dinner wares, a large section of blue and white, Lladro, bronzes, carved items, small collectables, etc., and best of all a fine early bronze Ming Buddha on a stand.
